Society of Physics Students

UT’s Society of Physics Students consistently wins Outstanding Chapter honors from the national organization for their hard work and contagious enthusiasm. Among their activities over the years: hosting a Halloween party where they showcased their pumpkin decorating skills, throwing a party to celebrate the national SPS centennial, hiking to Grotto Falls in the Smokies, and attending the annual SPS zone meetings.

Astronomy Club

This club is open to all majors, undergrads, grad students, alumni, and staff! The club is free to join, and there are no requirements! If you even like the idea of black holes, galaxies, astrophotography, space travel, aliens, or anything else space related, this is the club for you!

Women In Physics

The Women in Physics (WiP) organization brings together students who wish to empower and support gender minorities in physics. WiP also strives to support other minority groups within physics and women in all STEM fields. The organization is open to any student interested in physics and supporting gender minorities.

People of Color in Physics

The People of Color in Physics Club is an organization that supports and promotes diversity and inclusion in the field of physics. The club provides a supportive and inclusive community for people of color who are interested in physics and related fields, and it offers a variety of events and activities that help members learn, grow, and connect with others in the field. In addition to its events and activities, the People of Color in Physics Club also advocates for diversity and inclusion in the physics community. The club works to promote policies and practices that support and empower people of color in the field, and it advocates for greater representation and recognition of the contributions of people of color in physics.
